Patches Visit

My sister Patti is off to show her talented dance kids off at Myrtle Beach, SC. I have become the newest babysitter for Patches! We were worried about how our Toby would react or better yet how Patches would react to Toby! Scott solved that 2 weeks ago when they came for a visit. Patti, the kids and I returned from an outing in the afternoon to find both dogs running around the living room. We both started yelling for anyone to grab one of the dogs! But, Scott came in and said they are fine! They have had it out, now they don't bother with each other. Patches lets Toby know his place every once in a while, but they are ok. Emma thinks that she has a new play toy! You see Toby is great with her, she dresses him in blankets, stands on him, tells him where to go etc etc etc... but he is a 90 pound dog! Patches is just the right size for Emma. Kaylyn spent Friday taking her where ever she went. I am sure if she didn't head to her dad's for 2 weeks, she would have kept Patches forever! Emma and I tricked Patches into thinking Toby's food was treats. She doesn't want to eat, it was our way of tricking her into it! The only problem is Emma decided to SHOW Patches how to eat the dog food! Unbenounced to me, she she swallowed it! Needless to say, the after taste, she won't be eating animal food again any time soon!
Patches is a sad little dog, missing her mom! But, today she is much better. I know this because she ate a piece of red licorice! (secret weapon) By the time Patti returns Emma and I will have adopted Patches without Scott even knowing and Patti not having an option!
Kaylyn has headed to hear dad's for a couple of weeks. She plans on sleepovers, camping in the trailer and hanging out with her London friends. She is REALLY hoping to get to the mall. My little girl has turned into a really girly girl! She loves the sparkle and glamor still. Now that she is making babysitting money and allowance, she likes to go to the mall and buy jewelry. We miss her already, but know that she will be back in time to go to the cottage with us.
Scott has started his training with Investors Group. He really enjoys it. He is trying to handle all the information one step at a time, but if you know Scott, you know that he likes to know what is coming. It is a great experience to go through together though. I think once he gets going on his own, he will be really happy with it. Now if I can get him to keep the computer room clean now that I have organized it for him!

Top 10 Emma Phrases

Being a 2 year old certainly has it's down falls. The temper tantrums, boundary pushing, trying to find out your own identity, but I have a rainbow amongst the storms! I have compiled my top phrases Emma uses daily. I find them quite funny when place at the right time:

1. Come here for a minute!
2. I can't come, I'm busy!
3. I'm beautiful! (Usualy stated while wearing a dress)
4. Snissers (Scissors)

5. That smells like the ocean.

6. I need my Crocs on (not shoes, Crocs)
7. My computer turn, my turn!
8. I lost my baby! (she loves her animal figures and they all have babies. She plays hide and seek with them)
9. I love you forever! (Likes to use this one after she gets in trouble)
10. Mmmm! Delicious! My favrite! (not favorite, favrite!)

I could write many more, but these are the daily phrases that keep me smiling and sometimes are her only defense when getting into trouble! Good thing they are cute or they might find themselves living in the corner!

Aunt Patti's Visit

Emma has joined the world of photography! Here is one of Emma's photo's. Aunt Patti was a good spirit about holding still long enough! Emma likes to take random shots of objects and people. We are going to try to piece people together from her photos to create our own person! We have shots of different peoples arms, legs, head etc. I think it would be interesting.
I hope to create an album for people view. It will be more of a game, trying to figure objects and who the people are! hehe!

This past weekend Patti, Ryan, Sami and her boyfriend Will came for a visit. It was a very warm, but GREAT visit! We try to get our families together as often as we can, but as the kids get older it gets harder and harder.

Emma convinced Sami to have a nap on the outside bench. I don't think it took much convincing! The kids spent Saturday evening on Clifton Hill doing the tourist thing. Poor Will! He has a leg cast, but refused to slow down! He kept up with the rest of them!

We bought Emma a new swimming pool. It was so hot on the weekend! She eventually got all of us in the pool, even if it was only our feet! I don't think anyone minded, it was kind of refreshing. We added her slide to the pool. She thinks that is great! Now she has decided that it is more fun sliding face first into the water! Now if we can only teach her to hold her breath!

My Sami and her beau, Will. It's hard to believe that Sami just turned 17! Wow time flies!

Miss Emma had a gathering of the ponies! Notice that the cow is leading! She is funny! Very carefully, one by one she arranged them. The neighbors get a kick out her and her quirky things!

At some point or another, I think everyone played ponies with Emma. It is one of her favorite things to do! I think Kaylyn was relieved to have others around so she didn't have to be the only one playing!

Ryan had a special project for school. It involved him making breakfast. Gosh, darn! He did pretty good! Not bad for a boy that doesn't cook too often. We tried to let him be, only intervening to keep the food eatable!

Next photos should be of summer cottage fun! Can't wait! Front porch, overlooking the lake, Gene cooking, Patti, Ann and I drinking and giggling, kids swimming! Can't wait!

Sorry for not keeping up to date... I did warn you though things like this would happen!

So.... where to start! Our new car is here and road worthy in Canada! She is a beauty! Red to boot! All the toys and the girls LOVE that they can see out the windows properly! It drives ssssssoooooooo nice, so nice that I have to drive with cruise control on so I don't get a speeding ticket!

Scott has left the gaming industry. There was a package offered at our Casino giving 3 weeks pay for every year worked to a max of 26 weeks if you volunteered your resignation. So, when opportunity knocks, we answer the door! I have been off since my accident, so we decided that we could make a go of trying to leave the industry. Weird how things come about but about a month ago a friend that used to work with us invited us to a seminar. A month later, Scott has decided to try working for him at Investors Group! We believe there is a lot of opportunities there for Scott. Not only do they deal with mutual funds, but they also do mortgages, insurance, day to day banking... pretty much anything to do with money! I think he will be phenomenal! He has a knack for knowledge and planning, he will eat up all the information he can! So, he has been studying his butt off the past couple of weeks!

Kaylyn is great! She was having problems with ingrown toenails. She was fighting infection pretty much non-stop for 3 months, soaking them and taking medicine. We finally had a referral to a podiatrist. We thought we were going only for a consult.... we had Emma with us..... they decided to pull her big toenails right then and there! Well, if any of you know Kaylyn's history, she HATES needles for a good reason! They put 3 in each toe just to freeze the big toe! Think about that! No meat there, only joint! There I was with one little girl crying at the other little girl crying and all I could think of was BREATHE! The nurse kind of laughed saying "Mom must have taken Lamaze!" The old song Kay sang with her previous testing (the alphabet song) returned to calm her down. I must say though, she has shown me the strength that floored me years ago!

Miss Emma is doing really well. She is 2 for sure! She has hit the wonderful 2's head on! Don't know where she would get the stubbornness from, but it is here! She is a whiz on the laptop. She fully understands what commands you ask her to do. She knows exactly where to click to get to her websites. She has one website that is great for helping learn the alphabet. Starfall.com. It has helped her recognize her letters and sound out words. She can recognize all of her family names (as well as pets) when printed on a piece of paper. We are a little bias, but we think she's a genius!

Me, I am still off work. Suppose to be back June 23rd. But we will see!

Emma's new bike

With the spring weather comes spring fever! Kaylyn has been out on her bike a few times, which got Scott and I thinking. We thought that it was time for Emma to get her own bike! We got her a tricycle with a push bar behind it to make it easier on us! This tricycle has a place where she can rest her feet if she doesn't want to pedal anymore. She quickly figured that one out! That way she can just sit for the ride! We have gone on a couple of walks with it and about half way through the walk she decides to push the tricycle with us! She is doing well, but hasn't quite got the hang of it. Here are a few shots taken on her first day with her new bike.

Scott is off to get our new vehicle tomorrow. He is taking a road trip with his best friend, Jason. They are suppose to be back tuesday morning, but knowing them, it could be evening before we see them! Birds of a feather....... We are very excited! I can't wait to be able to drive a car without getting sore! Love our Turbo, but the standard kills me!
Kaylyn bought new roller skates today. She was out for a little bit on them. Scott and I were very impressed at well she does on them. She is not a hockey star by any means, but she does great!

Emma's New Room

Well, after the car accident, I couldn't lift Emma. So she got a crash course at a previous failed attempt to get her to sleep in her big girl bed. She has moved on from Dora to Mickey Mouse, so we removed the stickers from her walls. I put them on her closet door thinking she could have some fun with them! We are looking for new posters or pictures to hang up on her barren walls!

Okay, so giving a 2 year old free range to play with stickers is not always the wisest thing to do, but man, was it funny! They ended up EVERYWHERE. We noticed that she had completely covered herself, but when we went to watch our TV in our room, we had a little trouble seeing! She is a silly nut! Life is not an adventure without children!

Oh yeah, the no pants thing is part of the potty training that is going GREAT! We have had many dry nights and naps! She is growing up so fast!
